What is Circle of Security?
The Circle of Security is a visual map of attachment. It is used in parent education and intervention programs to help caregivers better understand and meet children's attachment needs. It depicts the interplay between a child's need for exploration (going out) and their need for comfort and safety (coming in), with the caregiver acting as both a Secure Base and a Safe Haven.
Location/Facilities:
We have partnered with the Free Methodist Church to help us with space during this event.
5:30 PM - we will all eat dinner together at the Willamina Library
6:00 PM - Children will stay at the library with a paid library staff member for fun activities or a movie. Adults will head over to the church for the classes with the facilitator.
Childcare:
A minimum of 2 adults will be with the children; at least 1 of those will be a paid library staff member. Any volunteers who assist will be current vetted library volunteers.
